marriage=joke?
"Isn't one's wedding's day supposed to be the happiest day of one's life..?" ..maybe there was a lot more happiness being felt in the past, maybe a little in the present, what about the future?Y is it that the barest marriage ceremony that could happen (and had already happened) was to go down to ROM, sign the papers and exchange the vows in a cramped (and i meant cramped) office (after queuing up for ur turn to see the pastor/imam) and that's it; ur married...and the couple dun really knows what hits them cos they're too busy trying to wake up (like literally) in the 1st place!!
And the society wonders y the national divorce rates are going up..tsk
then there are those who treats it wif indifference; 'whats the pt in getting married?/we're already living under 1 roof/whats the pt in getting engaged; i dont see any difference btw being in a bgr and being engaged'..or there are those wif the mindsets'we're already sleeping 2gether anyway so to get married is just to sign the marriage cert and proclaimed each other man n wife officially so as to get certain family benefits'..hmmmm..
i dunno abt u but i tink tats sad IMPO (in my personal opinion; maybe i'm stuck in the ancient mentality regarding marriage so sue me) ; nt being able to see marriage as what it used to be - a respectful union/promise made btw a guy(whu's nt linked to the spouse by any blood ties) and a girl in front/and with the blessings of god and families alike..trying their darndest to make the union lasts a lifetime..
think; my parents, unhapi as they may be, their marriage is still Online, nt offline as it would've been if they were younger or were frm My generation or my bro's..think; my grandparents, heck, my grandpa's passed away and the marriage lasted till he closed his eyes..n god bless his soul
N...simply put, nt make marriage a joke . yep, to conclude, that's my pt: since when's marriage has become a joke? and Why?
i wonder..y
