A humbling thought...

As i was reading the prayer that marks the end of the muslim year, the following translation struck a chord in me. In its short verse, it speaks of how Allah's mercy is so much more encompassing than his wrath. Despite the wrongdoings that we do, & continue doing in our lives, in our every single day, we are still being kept alive, to be given our next breath to go on living, and loving, and learning, to be a better person day by day, moment by moment, as we live our lives and seek ourselves nearer to His love one fine day, insyallah. It is a humbling thought that i wish to share with you, my loved ones.

As i cant find a translated version of the below phrase in english, let me try to sum it up.

As muslims reach the end of another muslim year, we reflect on the mistakes that we have done, the wrongdoings that we have done this past year, and further still, we reflect on His love and that His love is more encompassing than his wrath. For with His love, he allows us to continue living so as to repent from our mistakes. In this verse, it also speaks of how we humans are weak and for that we pray that Allah continues to shower His mercy on us, and to continue believing in us with his Love, and to continue guiding us towards His love till our last breath.

I think it's beautiful and i believe it applies to all.

Disclaimer: If the translation proved incorrect, it is all based on my poor lack of knowledge, and is not reflective of the true beauty that lies behind this particular verse so feel free to correct me as I too would like to learn.

Doa Akhir Tahun (Terjemaahan) - Extracted from buku surah yasin/tahlil (no refs)

walaupun Engkau berkuasa menyeksa kami,

mala Engkau memberi peluang supaya kami bertaubat setelah kami melakukan maksiat kepadamu,
maka sesungguhnya kami memohon keampunanmu,
